After three days of drinking great Rhône wines and eating great food – refresh your palate! Anthony Anselmi of KLWM will be pouring a refreshing selection of Kermit Lynch Champagne to cleanse your palate of all those rich wines. Below is a list of wines Anthony will be pouring along with his tasting notes.

NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru Paul Bara
Bouzy
75% Pinot Noir, 12.5% Chardonnay, 12.5% Bouzy Rouge
Very expressive nose of high-toned strawberry and raspberry with exuberant bubbles yet quite dry on the finish. The village of Bouzy in the Montagne de Reims is considered to be the best terroir for Pinot Noir.

NV Brut Rosé 1er Cru J. Lassalle
Chigny-Les-Roses
80% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier, 10% Chardonnay
Light salmon color, effusive nose of mature berries and violet with mineral and herbs. Very pretty. The élevage is five years on lees so this rosé is light in color,  developed on the nose and delicate on the palate.

NV Impérial Préférence Brut  1er Cru J. Lassalle
Chigny-Les-Roses
20% Chardonnay, 60% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir
As with the rosé, this cuvée also rests on its lees for five years (FYI, the legal requirement is fifteen months) but the effect on the wine is different. The Préférence is rich and doughy with notes of apple tart, biscuit and burnt pear. One of the only Champagne houses where the wines undergo full malolactic fermentation. Think baby Krug.

2002 Cuvée Angéline 1er Cru • J. Lassalle
Chigny-Les-Roses
60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay
This is the cream of the crop at Lassalle. This cuvée is named after the grand daughter who is soon to take over the reigns from mother, Chantal. There are three generations of women involved at Lassalle…and we love Girl Power! The Pinot Noir really shows through with notes of berry but it’s the Chardonnay that gives Angéline its length and drive. The price is ridiculously low for a high end cuvée. What we have at 15 Degrees C is all we get.

1998 Comtesse Marie de France Grand Cru Paul Bara
Bouzy
100% Pinot Noir
Let’s see…100% Pinot from the best Grand Cru village in Champagne. Wow! Yeast and toasted nut with an impressively long finish. This is drinking exceptionally well right now but will continue to improve over the next five years.
